I've spent thirty years in prosthetics, orthotics, and rehabilitation — across the U.S., Latin America, the Caribbean, the Middle East, and Europe. That has meant well-resourced clinics, and it has meant Haiti, Gaza, Syria, and Rwanda.
What that range teaches you is inconvenient: a solution that works on paper often fails in the room. The device is right, and the supply chain isn't. The training lands and the clinic can't hold it. The protocol assumes conditions that don't exist.
That gap is where I work.
