We find the real problem
Most work arrives with a problem already named. It is usually real. It is rarely the whole picture. We look deeper first, because a good solution to the wrong problem helps no one.
We look at conditions
When something is not working, it usually shows up in a person. Someone is struggling, someone has gone quiet, someone cannot make the thing work. That is where the trouble becomes visible. It is rarely where it starts.
So we look at the arrangement. Who it was built for, whose way of working counts as normal, who carries the cost when things are tight.
Those are questions about equity and about agency. Who the arrangement serves, and who can change it.

We build so it holds
We work toward our own absence. What we build has to sit with the people who were here before us and will be here after us, so the ability to change it stays where it belongs.
That means starting from what they already know about their own setting, rather than bringing a model and fitting them into it.
